Fiona Lee is a researcher, writer, and teacher in literary and cultural studies. She earned her Ph.D in English and a Women’s Studies Certificate at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2014. Her research investigates the history of 20th-century decolonization in Southeast Asia, focusing in particular on the Malay world, through the prisms of literature and visual media. At CUNY, she taught literature and writing courses, as well as participated in various digital teaching and learning initiatives. Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cultural Studies in Asia at the National University of Singapore’s Asia Research Institute. In July 2016, she will be joining the University of Sydney’s Department of English as Lecturer.
